Overview
Blaze standardizes and streamlines how you respond to common diligence questions, covering categories such as Firm Overview, AUM and Track Record, Document Requests, Operations and Compliance, and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Diversity and Inclusion (DEI). Instead of completing a separate ad hoc questionnaire for every Requestor, you enter your responses once in a Blaze Live Profile and publish them. By default, every Requestor using Blaze functionality can then view the same up to date information directly, with reliable, real-time, read-only access. If you need more control over distribution, you can also choose exactly which Requestor firms receive access each time you publish.
This approach keeps your data consistent across all Requestor relationships, cuts down on repeated data requests, and gives Requestors a more transparent view into your firm's diligence information.
Enter your Blaze responses once. Every Requestor using Blaze sees the same published data in real time.
Creating and Publishing a Blaze Live Profile
A Blaze Live Profile sits at the entity level, under each firm, product, vehicle, or strategy you manage. Use the steps below to open a profile, enter your data, and publish it for Requestors to see.
Opening a Blaze Live Profile
- Navigate to the relevant entity, such as My Firm, under Manage.
- Open the DDQs tab.
- Click Open Blaze Live Profile in the upper right. This opens a new Blaze Live Profile if one does not already exist, or the existing profile for that entity.
The Open Blaze Live Profile button is available on the DDQs tab of each entity.
Entering and Publishing Your Responses
- For simple questions, such as firm name or website, type your response directly into the field shown.
- Manual entry: for data questions such as AUM or Track Record, use the Edit Values link under the question to enter data directly.
- Individual upload: use the Add/Upload AUM or Add/Upload Track Record link under a question to upload data for that question.
- Bulk upload: use the Bulk Update button in the upper right to download an Excel template, complete it offline, and upload it back into DiligenceVault to populate multiple questions at once.
- Each question displays a status tag, such as No Data or Draft, so you can see at a glance which responses still need attention.
The Blaze Live Data tab, with Publish All, Bulk Update, and Export in the upper right.
- Use Publish All in the upper right to publish every completed response at once, or Publish Response at the bottom right of an individual question to publish it on its own.
- Once published, responses become visible to every Requestor on the platform who is using Blaze functionality, unless you have turned on manual sharing.
Controlling Who Can See Your Profile
By default, publishing shares your responses with every Requestor using Blaze. If you need more control over distribution, you can switch to manual sharing instead.
Go to Firm Settings > Preferences > Firm Preferences > Blaze Profile and turn off “Automatically share my published Blaze profile with eligible investor firms” to choose which firms should see the profile.
- With automatic sharing turned off, you are prompted to select specific Requestor firms every time you publish, giving you complete control over profile distribution.
When you publish, a sharing modal opens so you can choose exactly which Requestor firms receive access.
- Firms that already have access are pre-selected and locked, so existing access is never accidentally removed. New firms are listed separately and can be selected individually.
- The modal confirms how many Requestor firms will receive access and reminds you that recipients can see all data published under Blaze Live Data.
Automatic sharing publishes to every Requestor using Blaze. Manual sharing opens a modal so you choose the Requestor firms yourself.
Monitoring Requestor Access
The Investor Access tab shows which Requestors can see your Blaze Live Profile and how they have engaged with it.
- Open the Investor Access tab from within the Blaze Live Profile.
- Review details for each Requestor, including Requestor name, number of views, last viewed date, last published date, last published by, first shared date, and first shared user. Additional columns can be added using Edit Columns on the right.
- Use Grant Access to share your Blaze Live Profile with additional Requestor firms at any time, without waiting for your next publish.
- Use Revoke Access for All to immediately remove every Requestor firm's access to your published data.
The Investor Access tab lists every Requestor firm with visibility into your Blaze Live Profile, along with Grant Access and Revoke Access for All controls.
You can also check sharing status without opening an individual profile.
- The Blaze Profile grid includes a Share With column, showing which Requestor firms have access to each profile at a glance. Hover over the column to view the full list when a profile is shared with multiple firms.
Reviewing Revisions and History
The Revisions & History tab keeps a complete audit trail of changes made to your Blaze Live Profile responses.
- Open the Revisions & History tab and select a question to view its change history.
- Added values appear in green, changed values appear in yellow, and deleted values appear in red.
- Each entry records who published the change and when.
Revision history for a single question, with additions, changes, and deletions color coded.
Example Use Case
An asset manager's investor relations team fields similar AUM and Track Record questions from a dozen Requestor firms every quarter. Rather than completing a dozen separate questionnaires, the team enters the fund's overall AUM, local currency AUM, and net performance once in the Blaze Live Profile and publishes the responses. Every Requestor using Blaze can then view the latest figures directly, without submitting a follow up request.
Things to Keep in Mind
- Published responses are read-only for Requestors, so there is no risk of accidental changes on their end.
- Only Requestors who are using Blaze functionality on the platform can see your published responses, and if you turn on manual sharing, only the specific firms you select will have access.
- The Revisions & History tab retains every prior version of a response, giving you a complete record of what changed and when.
