The DiligenceVault SharePoint integration is a Google Chrome extension that connects your DiligenceVault Document Library to SharePoint. Once it is set up, you can select documents held in DiligenceVault and sync them into a SharePoint folder of your choice, without downloading and re-uploading files by hand.
Responders typically use the integration to:
Keep a copy of DiligenceVault documents in SharePoint, where the rest of the firm already works
Move selected files across in a few clicks, instead of downloading and re-uploading them
Make diligence documents available to colleagues who work mainly in SharePoint
One way sync from the DiligenceVault Document Library into a SharePoint destination folder, through the Chrome extension.
How the Integration Works
The integration has three parts that you set up once and then reuse. First you create a SharePoint site to receive the documents. Next you install the DiligenceVault Chrome extension. After that, you sync documents from DiligenceVault into the SharePoint site whenever you need to.
Syncing runs in one direction only, from DiligenceVault to SharePoint. Selecting the files and clicking Sync is a deliberate action rather than a background process, so nothing is copied across until you choose to sync it.
The three stages of setup: create a developer site, install the Chrome extension, then sync documents.
Before You Begin
On the SharePoint side

On the DiligenceVault side

Part 1: Create a Developer Site in SharePoint
Create the SharePoint site that will receive your documents from the SharePoint admin center. If you already have a site you want to sync into, skip to Part 2 and grant access to that site instead.
Navigation path
Go to the Microsoft 365 admin center at https://admin.cloud.microsoft, then select SharePoint from the left navigation panel.

Back in the SharePoint admin center, under Sites > Active sites, the new site now appears in the list.
Granting users access to the site
Give the people who will sync documents access to the new site, and make sure they can upload files.
Under Sites > Active sites, click the new site to open its details.
Open the Membership tab.
Add the users who need the site, and confirm they have permission to upload documents.

Tips and Things to Know
The sync runs one way, from DiligenceVault into SharePoint. Changes made in SharePoint are not sent back to DiligenceVault.
Open the extension only from the SharePoint site home page. It will not connect from any other page.
If the extension does not respond after you log in, refresh the SharePoint page with Ctrl + Shift + R and try again.
Set your destination folder before you sync, so files land where you expect. You can create the folder under the Documents tab in SharePoint first.
Make sure the users who will sync documents have upload access to the SharePoint site, which you set on the site's Membership tab.
Pin the extension in Chrome so it is easy to reach each time you sync.
You do not have to sync everything at once. Tick only the files you need for this run, then sync again later for the rest.
