If you are associated with more than one firm in DiligenceVault, you can move between those accounts without logging out and logging back in. The Switch Accounts feature lets you change your active firm in just a few clicks, so you can access requests, projects, and data tied to each firm seamlessly.
This is especially useful for users who manage or participate in due diligence workflows across multiple firm accounts.
When You May Need to Switch Accounts
There are a few common scenarios where switching accounts is necessary:
- You belong to multiple firms and need to access a project or request that lives under a different firm than the one you are currently logged into.
- You click a link in an email notification for a project and see the error message: "You do not have required permission to view this selection." This typically means you are signed into a different firm account, not that your permissions are missing. Switching to the correct firm should resolve the issue.
- You want to review or respond to requests from separate organizations without the hassle of repeated logins.
How to Switch Accounts
DiligenceVault provides two ways to switch between firm accounts. Both options lead to the same result; choose whichever is more convenient for you.
Option 1: Switch from the Top-Right Corner
- Locate the Firm Name displayed in the top-right corner of the platform.
- Click on the firm name. You will be redirected to the Switching Firm page under the My Accounts section.
- Find the firm you want to access from the list and click "Switch to this firm".
Option 2: Switch from the Bottom-Left Corner
- Click on your name in the bottom-left corner of the platform.
- Select "Switch Accounts" from the menu that appears.
- Find the firm you want to access from the list and click "Switch to this firm".
Things to Keep in Mind
- After switching, the platform will load the selected firm's environment. Any projects, requests, or data you see will belong to that firm.
- If you receive a permission error when opening a link from an email notification, check which firm you are currently logged into. Switching to the correct firm usually resolves the issue.
- You can only switch to firms where your account has been added. If a firm is not listed on the Switching Firm page, contact your firm administrator to request access.
- Switching accounts does not log you out of DiligenceVault. Your session remains active throughout the process.
