About DV Assist
In today’s investment management ecosystem, time, accuracy, and scalability are paramount. Due diligence remains a cornerstone of investor–manager relationships, yet the process is historically labor-intensive, fragmented, and riddled with inefficiencies. Recognizing these challenges, DiligenceVault has introduced DV Assist functionality designed to auto-populate questionnaires, extract structured insights from documents, reduce the manual burden of due diligence, and help refine written responses.
Getting access
DV Assist is a paid add-on. To enable it, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager (CSM) or email us at ask@diligencevault.com.
Once the DV team enables DV Assist for your firm:
- Navigate to Firm Settings > Preference > Firm Preference > Control Workflow Defaults
- Toggle on Enable Generative AI Application Use
This activates DV Assist for your account.
Key capabilities of DV Assist
- Intelligent Autofill: Detects and reuses exact or similar responses from existing documents instead of regenerating.

Image & Table Handling:
- Extracts data from images and performs required calculations
- Populates dynamic grids from images, flagging missing inputs
- Computes values from embedded tables
- Unit & Format Conversion: Converts figures into the requested units (e.g., percentages, basis points, currency conversions). The functionality is agnostic of the requested format, and works well for all of them.
- Cross-Document Search: Finds relevant information across all supported formats (PDF, DOCX, Excel, CSV, PPT, Text).
Limitations of DV Assist
While DiligenceVault's AI functionality is powerful, it is not a content generator. It does not:
- Pull knowledge from the internet or beyond uploaded documents.
- Autofill AUM/TR tables or attachments.
- Generate at the individual question level. This feature is available for full projects, though users can select specific categories/subcategories.
- Maximum of 3 documents can be uploaded at a time.
- Files should be approximately up to 200 pages for PDFs and 300 pages for plain text or Word files.
Data Privacy and Security
DV Assist is built with enterprise-grade security:
- Operates within a secure Azure OpenAI environment
- Customer data is not used to train public models
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest
- No data is shared with third parties without consent
