Before you send a new request to a manager (Responder), make sure you have the following ready:
1. Contact : The individual(s) who will receive the request.
2. Template : The questionnaire you want to send.

Once both prerequisites are in place, follow the steps below to create and send a new request.
Step 1: Start a New Request
- Click New > Request from the left-hand navigation panel.
- Select the request type: Pre-Investment, Ongoing Monitoring, or Adhoc/Event Related.
Step 2: Choose the Entity
In the second tab:
- Select whether the request should be sent at the Firm, Strategy, or Product level.
- Use filters (tags, relationship status, or any custom fields) to quickly narrow the list of firms.
- Select one or multiple entities as needed.
- On the right-hand panel, add or remove the associated contacts for each entity.
Step 3: Set Request Details
In the third tab:
- Choose the As of Date.
- Set the Due Date.
- Select the questionnaire(s) you want to send. Multiple questionnaires can be added to a single request.
Step 4: Review and Finalize
In the Review tab, confirm all your selections and update the following fields as needed:
- Project Name: The internal name for your reference.
- Mark as Internal: Enable this if you want to create the project without notifying the manager.
- Allow Project Name to be Visible to Responder: Check this if you want the manager to see the project name.
- Internal Subscribers: Add team members who should receive status updates and see the project under My Projects.
- Auto-subscribe Primary Owner: Automatically adds primary owners associated with the entity as subscribers.

Email Template / Email Message:
- Enter a custom email body, or
- Use your saved email templates, or
- Let DV use the default email message.
When all details look correct, review the selected entity, questionnaire(s), and contacts.
Check the certification box:
“I certify that our firm will share the information received only with authorized personnel and clients.”
Click Send Request.
What Happens After You Send the Request
DV automatically checks whether the contacts are active:

Active Contacts:
They receive an email notification with a link to the project. -
New Contacts:
They receive:- A separate email notifying them of the new request with the project link.
- An activation email to set up their account.
Once responders log in, they can immediately open the project and begin entering their responses.
If they do not intend to respond, they can decline the request by clicking More > Decline in the questionnaire tab of the project.
Once the managers click on decline project, they will be asked to select a reason for declining the project and this will be shared with the requestor.
