If you’ve previously completed requests within the DiligenceVault platform, you can easily find, copy, and reuse information from your past responses.
Q/A Search
-
Enable Q&A Search from within your "Firm Settings" > "Preferences" > "Firm Preferences" and enable "Q&A Content Defaults"
- Navigate to "Diligence" > "Projects"> "In-progress"
- Select a project row
-
Click on the "Q/A Search" button in the upper right corner to open the Q/A Search side panel.
-
You can use filters and search for exact phrases by putting them in quotes. Once you find the appropriate response, copy it using the icons and paste it into the answer box in your current project. Don’t forget to click “Save.”
DiligenceVault includes a firm-level setting called Include Draft Responses that controls whether draft responses appear in Q/A search results, suggested responses, and auto-fill. This setting helps firms decide if drafts should be surfaced alongside finalized responses or excluded entirely. Only Super Admins and Business Admins can configure this setting, and the change applies to all users across the firm.
How to Access
From the left navigation panel, go to Firm Settings > Preferences > Firm Preferences > Q/A Content Defaults.
When Turned On (Default)
Draft responses appear in:
- Project Responses and Q/A Library tabs
- Project Q/A search results
- Suggested Responses
- Auto-fill
When Turned Off
Draft responses are excluded from all the areas listed above. Only finalized responses will be visible and available for reuse. Drafts are not deleted, they simply stop surfacing in search, suggestions, and auto-fill.
Things to Keep in Mind
- The setting is on by default. Drafts are included unless an admin explicitly disables them.
- This is a firm-wide setting and cannot be overridden by individual users.
- Turning this off may reduce the number of responses available for auto-fill, since only finalized responses will be considered.
- Review your team's workflow before making changes, especially if responses are frequently saved as drafts before being finalized.

Autofill
If you are working on a Project, and you have already responded to the same questionnaire previously within DiligenceVault, you can use the Auto-Fill feature to import some or all of the previous questionnaire responses into the current Project.
