Every firm you add in DiligenceVault stays in your Manage > Firms list, along with its projects, documents, and diligence history. If you no longer plan to work with a particular firm, for example because the relationship has ended or you no longer intend to track it, you can mark the firm as inactive.
Marking a firm as inactive removes it from your Firms view and stops you from sending that firm any new due diligence requests, so you are not left managing or scrolling past a firm you are no longer using.

How to Mark a Firm as Inactive
Navigation path
- From the left navigation panel, click Manage, then select Firms from the menu.
- In the Firms list, locate the firm you want to remove from your view and open its profile.
- On the firm's profile page, on the Monitor tab, click the three-dot icon in the top right corner, next to the Create New button. Hovering over this icon shows the tooltip Edit, view website, search or inactivate firm.
Firm profile page with the three-dot menu open, showing Mark as Inactive
- From the menu that appears, select Mark as Inactive.
What Happens When You Mark a Firm as Inactive
- The firm is removed from your Firms view, so it no longer appears alongside the firms you are actively working with.
- You can no longer send this firm a new due diligence request.
- To reactivate the firm, add a new firm and select it from the suggested firms list.
